AMERICA’S NEW ADDICTION ELECTRONIC DEVICES

From the beginning!

There was the radio & it was good!

Then the television & it was good!

Then the computer & it was good!

Then came social networking & it was….Not so good!

 

We have gotten ourselves into a new addiction letting anyone/everyone now where we are and what we are doing!

Where were we and what did we do before all this?

Minding our own store/backyard!

 

Do we really need to let one and all know about our personal lives?

Is it because of the “New media” Thanks to the Internet?

We feel as if we have our very own network or soap opera?

 

When we only had the telephone!

It was the only medium we used to let the people we know & loved one’s as where we are going and if not with who.

 

Is it a weakness?

Or! Addition?

Or! Both?

Letting one and all know our business!

Can & is scary in it’s own right.

People can access any one’s social net site page and find out more about you than you would even like them to know.

Friendliness! Is pretty much non-existent!

 

I think that the time!

We first seen our underbellies.

Was when we had  the oil embargo in the 70’s!

People arguing and fighting for that precious liquid called “GAS!”

From then on It was all downhill!

 

Has social networking really paid of as to having online friends vs. friends in real life?

In a way! It’s easier to make friends online than in person.

Because online no one truly knows us.

And we tend to open up about us and our lives.

 

The question still remains!

Is social networking!

helping us?

Or! Hurting us?

It’s like asking: “How many licks does it take to get to the middle of a Tootsie pop?”

One may never know!
