Somebody Has to Say It!

In this world! I do find from time to time a nugget of something that either we may take for granted! Or there are times when a thought goes/runs through our minds about something that we somehow believe is true but! Just not that sure about it!

In comes me! Now! I am in no way! Boating/bragging about me at all. It’s just that I would have to say that because of the Internet! I can go places see and do things as well as look up stuff! But as I said. I know from talking to people most of my life. Where we both were not all that sure about it.

I thin that the comments, views, opinions I make! Do give people something to think about and be informed as well. And! Is not it what we all looking for? Information and in a way! An entertaining thought along the way? Another way of looking and seeing things from another fellow space traveler?

Like! When the Government shutdown! Whoever the congressman was that had the idea (As you can see! I am not all that into politics!) My first thought was: “Whoever it is thought that this might be a great way to get a foot in the door of the political system!”. As far as that goes! Small minds! You know the rest!

I do think that since one is fair in their thoughts, comments, views, opinions! And yes! Have done their research into whatever! We can take “Political Correctness” Out of commission aka deep six it!

Because all it is really truly doing to us! Is making us petrified of saying what we think feel, believe in anything. And this should not be. This is not how our parents were raised and their parents and so on. And beside! The last time it reared it’s ugly head (The phrase!)! Was in a comic strip!

The phrase itself! Has the wrong definition! The modern day definition of political correctness is: “Conform and comply with what “I” want you to say and do!” But! To these same people who want others to do and be and say what they want us to! If!!! And if! Someone pulled the same “Trick” on them! The response would be: “HOW DARE YOU!” You see what I mean?

And because it! It restricts us from asking, let along knowing what it is that we need to know. Many times! I have taken the first step in asking questions. Only to be laughed at or embarrassed because! “They” themselves would not dare to ask. Do you want that causes? Mistakes mess ups, screw ups, and the hits just keep on coming!!! We learned that! In grade school and our classmates and even our friends! When they tell us stuff like that! Are they really our friends?

Though! I do not put any stock into the Internet and any websites there are! I have always been one to read one or even more websites and books about something or someone.

For example! I am in the process of reading about FDR and Abe Lincoln. Over the years there have been many books about them. And what I do find interesting is. What one does not talk about! Some other Author will.

Another! The original Tylenol scare! At that time I did subscribe to both time and Newsweek. And I found that what time did not cover! Newsweek did and to the same in reverse as well.

The best quote I ever heard was from Tony Brown of PBS’S Tony Brown’s Journal. And at the end of his program. He would give “Words of thought”. My personal favorite briefly: “It’s always best to get more than one side of a story!”

Enough said!

Why Do Americans Stink at Math? – NYTimes.com

Why Do Americans Stink at Math? – NYTimes.com.

When I went to school in the 60’s and early 70’s!

School even back then were in much needed repair or at the very least a “OVERHAUL”. Because of the life/times e were way back when. That we did not need to even expand or change anything AKA “If it’s not broke don’t fix it” mentality. I can remember one time! A student teacher! Got up and left because he thought that the teacher was wrong about something he said/did.

,I think the very worst thing about school! Is the very fact that the teachers themselves! Conflict with other teachers! What I mean by that is each teacher had their own way of teaching the class. You get used to one! Then! You have a conversion for the other. How the teacher conducted the class, how they taught the class. How they came up with the answer there was no thinking involved at all.,

I can remember when it came to even math! How you get to the answer is this way and nothing else. My daughter! When she was in high school. Had a teacher who got all over her because the teacher wanted her to figure out the math problem one way “HER”S”. It bothered her so much! I told her: “Look! You know you can do it!” “And! I know you can do it!” “Just do it the way she wants you its more than likely she just wants that peace of mind knowing you can do it her way!” My daughter did and it worked!

The subjects that most teachers do agree on! Are Social Studies, Science, American History, Health, Art, English, reading, spelling.

But! When it comes to teaching math. Both math & teachers are one of the same different, conflicting, “CONFUSING!”

And johnny can’t read?

I am not one for conformity! But! When you have teachers who have that degree that says “They can teach!” And more then likely have their own set of ideas of how their classroom is going to be! Someone is sucking down the wrong meds!

DEFINE: “PASSION”!

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/passion

Chase down your passion like it’s the last bus of the night. ~Terri Guillemets

PASSION!

Is the one word that has many different meanings/definitions/interpretations to a lot of us.

But! Passion is the one word that I found that can separate us from them!

What is it that to some of us gives us that drive to achieve and accomplish things we like/live/love?

What is “YOUR” passion?

It can be a whole lot of things!

People, places, things & then some.

The people we like/love that are or have come and gone in and out of our lives.

Places that we have seen in some way book, film, magazine.

Or have been to or would love to be there/live there.

Things! That either drive us crazy!

Or can’t get enough of!

Food, comfort food, candy, decadent pleasures, fruits, liquors, drinks, even people!!!!

But! The one thing!

That I think that where I’m coming from is this!

The thing!!!!!

That gives us the desire to drive us to do what we want to do is!

Our work! It may seem somehow strange to some people of what I’m talking about!

But to those who do know.

They are the one’s who have the passion & drive to do what is needed in life!

We all in our own way.

Want the things we do to have meaning in our lives.

This! In itself! Is so very hard to even describe!

But let’s think about what we want to do with our life?

When we were so very young!

What did we want to be when we grew up?

Doctor, police person, firefighter, paramedic (this was created long before the word ever was in our lingo!).

When I was in the 4th. grade!

The art teacher asked the class: “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Everyone in the class drew a picture of what they wanted to be!

But!!!!! Me!!!!!

I drew a picture of me being a D. J.!

When the teacher showed the class my picture!

They ALL! Laughed!

But! The art teacher said: “Now! Wait a minute!”

“This is good!”

I think what he meant was: “There is someone who can think out of the box as to what s/he wants to do with their life!”

Do you see where I’m coming from on this?

This! Is what we do with our lives!

Go to school, get good grades, either go to a trade school or continue on through to high school, either find a good paying job, or on to college/university, find something that makes BIG bucks, find someone, get married, raise a family, save for retirement and wait for the grim reaper to come!!!!!!!

I define “PASSION” as being your own person.

You have to be.

It’s because of the way too many doomsayers, naysayers the people we know will tell us: “You can’t do  that!”  “That’s not you!”

These people get in the way of what it is that we want to do in our lifetime.

Then! It is ever so very true!

That we do live our lives in the shell of what we truly do want to become.

Forget the past. Accept your mistakes. Dare to speak the truth. Be honest to your commitment.

If you have ever felt such tremendous enthusiasm and desire for something that you would gladly spend all your waking hours working on it, that you would happily do without pay, then you have found your passion.
— Sharon Cook & Graciela Sholander

Without passion you don’t have energy, with out energy you have nothing. – Unknown
